Note: An alphabetical list of research

Becker, J. Henry and Ravitz, Jason (1999). The Influence of Computer and Internet Use on Teachers' Pedagogical Practices and Perceptions, Journal of Research on Computing in Education, 08886504, Summer99, Vol. 31, Issue 4

Their research focuses on the changing pedagogical practices of teachers in school settings through the 'Digital Era'. Their main argument comes from the analysis of a Digital Classroom versus the Traditional Classroom: concluding that with the Digital Classroom, studies become more enhanced and the student is able to take in a greater amount of information through collaborative work. The benefits of the digitally enhanced classroom environment far surpass that of the traditional, and therefore, they conclude, the student is adapt to more "high-quality work" than before (Becker and Ravitz, 381).

Cogill, Julie (2002). How is the Interactive Whiteboard Being Used in the Primary School and How Does This Affect Teachers and Teaching?

This research focuses on how teachers' pedagogical skills have changed because of the intervention of the digital whiteboard and how the children and classroom environment have also changed because of the teachers.  During this study the author is also interested in the relationship between the pedagogical skills and the good use of ICT.

Harkins, Corrine and Zirngibl, Lisa (2007). Teaching Digital Responsibility, Volume 2007, Issue 6, EDUCAUSE, Center for Applied Research.

This research assesses and provides a summary of an innovative Computing Skills Workshop, currently in the curriculum of Carnegie Mellon University located in Boulder, Colorado. A key area of interest in this research paper is the introduction and assessment of student instructors in the digital classroom. Of particular interest is the active use of classroom technology and a unique 360-degree feed back system that is encouraged between students, student instructors, and faculty. The research summarises the question of  where is the digital divide between the students and the Universtiy.

Karchmer, Rachel (2001). The journey ahead: Thirteen Teachers report how the Internet influences literacy instruction in their K-12 Classrooms, 442-464.

This article assesses the impact of technology in the Elementary and High school classroom. The Internet, in particular, is studied for it provides a collaborative and student-centered environment that is able to improve student achievement. Karchmer argues that educators must explore the technologies available to them as it is taking on an even greater presence in the classroom.
